Designed by Arkhefield, Balaam House is a special shelter that is designed in harmony with the environment and weather in the region. The house was built with concrete material, aliminium zinc, wood and raw battening. The combination is used in this house is very popular for the tropics area. In addition to having river views, the house also has a wonderful private garden which is a playground for the children and to relax around the campfire. Like most houses in Australia, this house is also implementing “green system” and energy efficient technologies such as rainwater harvesting, solar hot water, passive “heat stack” cross ventilation, solar control glass and etc.
