Karaka Bay House Design by Stevens Lawson Architects
Located on the edge of a cliff overlooking the brown island in the Waitemata harbor, this house was designed by Stevens Lawson Architects for client who has lived for 35 years and wants a new home for the rest of their lives. Home design is formed from interlocking concrete boxes of various proportions that create a variety of interior space. A large spiral staircase connecting the three vertical levels, with bedrooms located upstairs, Living area at the secondary level and living room on the lower level. The stepped cross-section allow s natural light to penetrate deep into the house through the day. The atmosphere of the house is result from the interaction between austerity and sensuality.
