Lexsus RX 450H Component

Lexus claims every component of the RX450h is new – with a new suspension system, brake package and all-wheel-drive system as well as a lower floor and wider wheelbase.
To prove the point, the car maker provided the old model RX400h for comparison.
The race track and skid pan exercises showed the new Lexus RX450h sits flatter in corners and turns more sharply without losing grip (it has less understeer) as the RX400h it replaces.

The firmer suspension trade-off though is a more jiggly ride at lower speeds and it is noisy and crashy over harsh bumps.
Wind noise, however, was minimal except for the occasional whisper around the side pillar.
Our fuel economy average on test was impressive – 9.1L/100km over mixed driving. The electric seats and steering column make finding a comfortable driving position very easy.
The Lexus Remote Toucher (which controls the car’s onboard computer) takes a bit of getting used to though.
