Maddock House by Marc Boutin, Calgary, Canada
Maddock House was designed by Marc Boutin for a family with four members, creating a series of sophisticated relationship between interior and exterior space. The project is a dramatic view of the Rocky Mountains and downtown to the west. Living Room and Kitchen located about west-south facing pages that seamlessly facilitate socializing with family and friends. Outdoor fireplace, located in the courtyard and the terrace views of upper level, allowing clients to extend the use of exterior space into the fall and spring transition. Home design using stone cladding on the main level as an important conceptual cue that integrate landscape into the interior space of the house. This is done through the extension of the landscape walls. Stone walls define the space containing the exterior that provides homes with varying degrees of privacy and convenience.
